Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How are orders packaged?
All our packaging will ensure our product arrives with you cool and ready to devour. The boxes, ice packs and insulated bags are reusable and not only functional but finish off a present that you would be proud to give and thrilled to receive. We constantly review our packaging to ensure we use the most recyclable yet practical – after all, it has to keep your goodies chilled in transit.
How will my order get delivered?
Our delivery partners are DPD who have made a real name for themselves with food suppliers for not cocking things up – unlike other couriers we have known in the past. We send ours on 24 hour guaranteed delivery. In our experience the vast majority of parcels arrive before noon. Delivery Dates
On the checkout page of the website, you will be asked to choose your delivery date from the available options.
Do you offer “Click and Collect”?
You can collect from the Smokery – this carries a charge of £2 for packaging. If you don’t want any packaging, you will be refunded the £2 on collection.
Do your products have sell-by-dates?
Each pack will the clearly marked with a sell by date. In most cases, this will be for at least 21days, provided the pack is kept unopened, in your fridge. Some of our products contain dairy (pates, potted prawns etc) which will carry shorter shelf life.
Can I freeze your products?
All our goodies freeze brilliantly – for up to 3 months. The only exception is Cod’s Roe which becomes soft on thawing.
Do you sell frozen products?
We sometimes sell products from our deep freeze. These will probably arrive thawed and should not be refrozen. You will be advised in advance.
How are your products smoked?
We use oak and apple wood from British trees, specially graded to produce the optimum size of tiny wee chippings that suit our wonderful old smoker.most
